On July 8, Taiyuan, Shanxi, overseas Chinese teenagers studied Tai Chi. On the same day, more than 120 overseas Chinese youths from 7 countries including Australia, Italy and the United States participated in the 2019 “China Roots Search” summer camp series to experience the charm of Chinese traditional culture. "Participating in the "root-seeking journey" is my long-cherished dream. I hope to experience the convenience of China's 'inventions' and technology such as mobile payment, shared bicycles, high-speed rail, and meet friends from all over the world." Australian Chinese youth Ma Yingfei is coming to China. The trip is full of expectations.

The China News Service reported that China’s “root-seeking tour” series of activities is a brand activity of Chinese education. It aims to encourage Chinese-American youth from all over the world to learn and inherit Chinese culture. It has been held for 20 years and has 30 countries and regions. Tens of thousands of Chinese youths participated in the event. For them, the “root-seeking journey” is both a journey of learning, a journey of culture, and a journey of blood.

In the past 20 years, the “Looking for Roots” series of activities has created a unique root-seeking cultural brand based on local advantages and the characteristics of overseas Chinese youth. The colorful activities have inspired Chinese teenagers to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture.

Li Yinglong, a Chinese-born teenager who is participating in the 2019 “root-seeking tour” summer camp Shanghai Xuhuiying in Shanghai, has gained a lot of these days. In just 10 days, Li Yinglong experienced 19 teaching activities. Learning to make dumplings, bragging, experiencing ancient papermaking, movable type printing, etc. made him feel fresh and interesting. "It is meaningful to be able to interact with small partners with similar experiences, make new friends, and learn Chinese traditional culture together," he said.

American Chinese teenager Yu Yuxuan spent a "cool" trip in Gansu. He traveled from Lanzhou to more than 30 age-old partners, and went to Zhangye, Jiayuguan, Dunhuang and other places to re-take the millennium Silk Road, experience the unique customs and culture, and appreciate the culture and art with Chinese characteristics.
